Jean Marie Daughtrey Myers, 90, formerly of Westminster, passed away peacefully at Lorien Taneytown on January 21, 2018. Born in Bowling Green, Virginia on January 1, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Lyman Carroll and Ruth Marie (Knight) Daughtrey. She was the wife of Howard Grant Myers who she married 67 years ago on July 29, 1950. Jean graduated from Caroline High School in Bowling Green, Virginia. She attended Western Maryland College, graduating in 1949 with a degree in History and Psychology. She was a kindergarten teacher in Carroll County for many years and a homemaker. Jean was a life-long member of Westminster United Methodist Church. She sang in the choir, and was very active in the United Methodist Women, serving as the president for a season. She was a 4-H leader in Carroll County, and very active in the community. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters Marsha Lantz of Sykesville (married to Leon Lantz II), Brenda Myers of Millersville, and Julie Tennent of Wilmore, Kentucky (married to Timothy Tennent). She is also survived by a brother, Thomas Knight Daughtrey of Sandston, Virginia, grandchildren David Lantz, Sarah Lantz, Rebecca Lantz Fitzgerald, Jonathan Tennent and Bethany Tennent, and great- grandchildren Abigail Lantz and Naomi Lantz. The family will receive friends Friday, January 26, 2018 from 2-5 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster. Please use the chapel entrance. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at Westminster United Methodist Church, 162 E. Main Street, Westminster. Interment in Deer Park Cemetery, Smallwood will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in Jean's name, to Westminster United Methodist Church, 162 E. Main Street, Westminster, Md. 21157, or to The Least Of These Ministries, P.O. Box 2824, Westminster, Md. 21158-7824
