Jean R. Crabb, age 79, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster, MD where she was a resident for past 11 years. Born in Baltimore on April 10, 1938, she was the beloved daughter of the late John Power and Ann (Reithel) Crabb. Jean was someone who could always be counted on when needed. Her devotion to family and the love she gave was unparalleled. She loved making people happy and comfortable. Those who know our family had certainly heard of Jean, as her reputation preceded her. She was a graduate of Eastern High School in 1956, earned her bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Hood College in 1960, and Masters of Education from Towson State College in 1975. She retired after 28 years of effective and faithful service rendered to the youth of the Baltimore County Public Schools. She was considered an "Angel Without Wings" by her neighbors of St. Matthews Court of Carroll Lutheran Village assisting them, especially during inclement weather. Jean was a lifelong fan of the Baltimore Orioles and loyally rooted for them through thick and thin. She took every opportunity to take her family to the ballpark to share her passion. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Rose (Crabb) Noppenberger and husband Robert of Parkville, MD, her brother, John Henry Crabb and wife Louise of New Market, MD, her 2 nieces, Linda Gail Woodward, and Jean Anne (Noppenberger) Finn and husband Patrick, her 6 nephews, Kenneth E. Noppenberger and wife Kim, W. Steven Woodward and wife Holly, Robert J. Noppenberger and wife Kelly, John V. Crabb and wife Jennifer W., Brandon R. Crabb and wife Jennifer L., Ryan P. Crabb and wife Sarah, 15 Grand Nephews and Nieces and her lifelong friend Berta Lou (Pocock) Dietz of Anchorage, AK. Jean was preceded in death by her parents and sister Beverly Ann Woodward and brother-in-law William G. Woodward. She will be missed by more than her family, but also by her friends, neighbors and those who were fortunate to have met her. A Memorial Service will be held at Krug Chapel at Carroll Lutheran Village, 300 Saint Luke Circle, Westminster, MD 21158 on Saturday July 8, 2017 at 11 A.M. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 A.M. to 11 A.M. Jean dedicated her life to making other's dreams and wishes come true.
