Jeanne Wood Hoffman, 71, of Millers, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, in The Villages, Fla.

Born April 17, 1941, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Joseph L. Wood Jr. and Natalie deRaismes Wood. She was the wife of Thomas L. Hoffman, her husband of 40 years.

She graduated in 1958 from All Saints Episcopal School in Vicksburg, Miss., and in 1961 received her bachelor's degree from the Towson State Teachers College in Towson. She was a math teacher for the Baltimore County Public Schools. She retired after 35 years of service.

She enjoyed music of the '50s and '60s and had a profound interest in sports car clubs. She was a member of the former Chesapeake Sports Car Club, the Volvo Marque Club and the Sports Car Club of America, in which she held various responsibilities for 30 years as a member of the Washington, D.C. Region. For many years she served as chief of timing and scoring for the region, and assisted in the transition to transponder timing for the club.

She was a wine aficionado and held membership in the Carroll County Chapter of the American Wine Society and the national organization. She expressed her creative talents through handmade jewelry, crafts and origami, and was known for her homemade bread.

She was an avid fan of the Baltimore Ravens, having discovered her interest in NFL football later in life. She was a voracious reader and puzzle solver. She and her husband enjoyed wintering in The Villages for the past few years.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are brother Joseph L. Wood III and wife Laura, of Annapolis; a niece Natalie, of Annapolis; nephews Joseph L. Wood IV and wife Sarah, of Westminster, and Timothy G. Wood and wife Nora, of Bronx, N.Y.; and great-nephew and great-nieces Joseph L. Wood V and Samantha, both of Westminster, and Liza and Palmer, both of Bronx.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at her brother's residence, 220 Norwood Road, Annapolis. Interment will be for family only at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Gettysburg, Pa.
