Jennifer Ruby Horns, 32, of Union Bridge, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at home.

Born Nov. 16, 1981, in Birmingham, Ala., she was the daughter of Dr. Phyllis Nichols Horns and Fred Horns, of Greenville, N.C. She was the wife of John T. James, who she married Sept. 1, 2013.

She was a registered nurse. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and pets. She enjoyed traveling, following the Ravens, going to the beach and was known for her laughter.

Surviving, in addition to her parents and husband, are brothers John Horns, of Greenville, and Justin Horns, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; in-laws John and Marietta James, of New Windsor; sisters-in-law Beth Goode, of Hampstead, Julie Rosier, of Westminster, and Kathy Maggard, of New Oxford, Pa.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of memorial service, 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, 65 Washington Road, Westminster, with the Rev. David Highfield officiating. Interment will be private.

Cremation arrangements are by Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel in Westminster.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Carroll County Humane Society, 2517 Littlestown Pike, Westminster, MD 21158.
