Jerry Allen Devilbiss, 65, of Taneytown, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013.

Born Feb. 29, 1948, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Paul B. and Bettie Perry Devilbiss. He was the husband of Susan Devilbiss, his wife of 38 years.

He was a 1966 graduate of Taneytown High School. He was a lifelong beef farmer in the Keysville area.

He was a lifetime member of Keysville Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he had served on the council and had served as treasurer for Union Cemetery. He was also a member of the Littlestown Eagles.

He enjoyed farming, attending tractor pulls and car races and spending time with his grandsons.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter and son-in-law Julie R. and Edward Albert, of Littlestown, Pa.; a son, Mark A. Devilbiss, of Keymar; grandsons Nathaniel and Nicholas Albert; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Robert and Karen Miller, Beverly and Larry Bales, Martha Shorb and Ronald Miller; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Keysville Evangelical Lutheran Church, 7301 Keysville Road, Keymar.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church with Deacon Charles Barnhart, church pastor, and the Rev. James Russell, former pastor, officiating.
