Jerry Alan Nichols, 71, of Upperco, died May 15, 2012, at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Towson from complications related to pneumonia.

Born Aug. 4, 1940, in Bluefield, Va., he was the son of the late William Ray and Beulah Pauline Starling Nichols. He was the husband of the late Cynthia Duella Lawson, who died in 2011.

He had served in the U.S. Army from 1957 until 1960. He moved to Loudoun County, Va. in the 1990s to work for DECCO Electronics in Leesburg, Va. before moving to Maryland to start his own business, Imagitron Sales Corporation.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Monica E. and James H. Lambert, of Leesburg; and Melinda M. and John A. Scott, of Sterling, Va.; grandchildren Daniel A. Markulik, Ian A. Scott, Clayton S. Lambert and Callie B. Lambert.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Teresa Gail Nichols.

The family will receive friends from noon until the time of service, 1 p.m., Sunday June 3, at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead.
