Jill Lyn Bowers, 45, of Westminster, died Monday, March 18, 2013, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born July 11, 1967, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Patricia Canapp Welty and Roger E. Welty, of Winston-Salem, N.C. She was the wife of Brian W. Bowers, her high school sweetheart, who she married Oct. 18, 1987.

She was a 1985 graduate of Westminster High School and The Medix School in Towson. She worked for Dr. Dean Griffin's office for a number of years. She helped her husband in their business, Bowers Custom Home Improvements and most recently worked as a vision and hearing technician for the Carroll County Health Department.

She was a member of Uniontown Bible Church. She enjoyed family time and watching her kids play sports. She enjoyed shopping at the mall, going to Gold's Gym, traveling and going to her Ocean City beach house to enjoy the sun, the Ravens, country music and concerts and her dogs, Buster and Sarah.

Surviving, in addition to her parents and husband, are children Kristopher Mathew-William Bowers, Katelyn Marie Bowers and Tyler Ryan Bowers, all of Westminster; brother and sister-in-law Mark and Debbie Engle, of Westminster; a sister, Debbie R. Engle, of Westminster; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Wanda and Edward Scott Merryman, of Westminster; father-in-law Jerry Woodrow Bowers and companion Barbara Mazurek, of Westminster; maternal grandparents Robert and Edith Canapp, of Baltimore; nieces and nephews Kristen, Kyle and Rachel Engle, and Owen Merryman, all of Westminster; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by a son, Brian William Bowers Jr.; paternal grandmothers Lena V. Bowers and Anna Sweitzer; and mother-in-law Kathleen C. Bowers.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Uniontown Bible Church, 4280 Watson Lane, Union Bridge, with the Rev. Pete Green officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
