Joan Elaine Willis, 75 of Taneytown, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at her home. Born on November 5, 1940 in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late Earl Christopher and Catherine Lucinda Dorsey Dorm. She was the wife of the late Emory Alan Willis, who predeceased her in 1995. Joan was a 1957 graduate of Robert Moton High School. She then graduated in 1959 from the Cortez Peters Business School in Baltimore. Joan went to work as a stenographer in Atlantic City and then she came back to Maryland and worked for Kessler Shoe Factory, Telemecanique, and the Carroll County Hospital. Joan was an avid Ravens and Orioles fan. She was a member of the New Antioch Baptist Church in Randallstown and belonged to the Taneytown Senior Center, Purple Passionate, and Red Hat Society. Joan also enjoyed bus trips, arts and crafts, and being with her family. Surviving her are daughters Regina Billups and husband Rodney of Taneytown, Dorita Dorm of Westminster, Wanda Willis of Suitland, and Theresa Woodland and husband Robert of Suitland; siblings Kenneth Dorm and wife Queen, Jessie Patterson, Mary Hann, and Sharon Cornish and husband Marvin all of Westminster; grandchildren Trey, Tyrone, Jr., Lawrence, and Rodney; step grandchildren Rashida, TaNieka, Kelly, and Tiamber; great grandchildren Natalie, Aliyah, Merissa, Destiny, and Olivia; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings Charles, Charlotte, Earl, Russell, Clarence, Francis, Gordon, and Howell. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 3 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster and on Monday, April 4 from 10 a.m. until the start of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at New Antioch Baptist Church, 5609 Old Court Rd., Baltimore, MD 21133 with her pastor, Pastor Kenneth L. Barney officiating. Interment will be in Westminster Cemetery.
