Joan MacCubbin-Hicks, 74, of Palmyra, PA passed away Monday November 7, 2016 at the Arden Court of Susquehanna in Harrisburg, PA. Born December 12, 1941 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late John Edward and Dorothy Smith MacCubbin. She was the wife of the late C. Errol Hicks. She had worked as a medical secretary and transcriptionist, retiring from St. Joseph's Medical Center. She was an avid quilter and did all sorts of needlework. She enjoyed Bible study and music. Surviving are daughters, Penny L. Sprinkle of New Cumberland, PA, Peggy J. Simmons of Williamsburg, PA and Melanie A. Semrau of Annville, PA; son, John C. Sprinkle of Baltimore; brothers, Thomas P. MacCubbin of Dover, PA and Philip E. MacCubbin of Sheridan, WY, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brother John H. MacCubbin. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 9 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Eline Funeral Home, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead. A private graveside service will be held in Immanuel Episcopal Church Cemetery, Glencoe. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the , 2002 Clipper Park Road, Suite 110, Baltimore, MD 21211.
