In Loving Memory of Joan L. Six In remembrance to our Mother: be a blessing to someone, as she was a blessing to us. Joan was born September 27, 1937 and went to be with our Lord April 1, 2016; peacefully at her home surrounded by her family in Westminster Md. She was a private duty CNA for 35 years caring for the terminally ill, and Alzheimer's patients. Joan was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She loved people and no matter what her circumstances were, she always had a smile and a compliment for everyone she met. Not only was she known for her wonderful smile and beautiful personality, but she took pride in making her home as beautiful and welcoming as she was. She could always be found sitting on her porch visiting with her neighbors and anyone passing by. You could always recognize her house by the many beautiful flowers surrounding it. She was a former member of the Moose of Westminster where she loved to dance on the weekends, and sing karaoke on Wednesday nights. But her greatest love was spending time with her family. Joan was the daughter of the late Harvey R., and Nellie M. Fox Martin of Littlestown PA. She is survived by 5 children: Robert L. Six of South Mountain Pa, Sandy A. Six of Taneytown MD, Diann L. Six of Vacaville CA, David S. Six of Orrtanna Pa, Lainey K. Six of Duncanville TX. Joan was a grandmother of 13, a great grandmother of 20, and a great great grandmother of 3. She is predeceased by 1 grandson Robert L. Six 2nd on May 11, 2003. Special Acknowledgements to: Lorraine Six, Clifford Glacken, Home Call of Westminster, and Carroll Hospice. Our dear Mother, Mama, and Granny who departed this life. The long weary night has ended and with the dawn comes peace and rest. Dear Mother, Mama, and Granny, you touched many hearts while here on earth. We are thankful to God for all of the loving memories we have of you, and you will live forever in our hearts. We find comfort knowing you are safe within God's loving care. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157 Services are not being held per the wishes of Joan, she wants to be remembered as she was in life.
