Joann Reazin, 72, of Hanover, Pa., formerly of Sykesville, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, after a five-year battle with brain cancer.

Born April 18, 1941, in Sykesville, she was the daughter of the late Mary and James McElroy. She was the wife of V. David Reazin.

She worked at Springfield Hospital Center for 33 years and enjoyed the last few years employed in the Kids Club at Gold's Gym in Hanover, Pa. She liked helping people and was willing to help all less fortunate than she. She spent most of her life in Maryland and Pennsylvania and lived in Tombstone, Ariz., from 2004 through 2008.

She enjoyed many adventures, including motorcycling across the country, rafting, kayaking and canoeing down challenging waterways and riding horses in the Rockies. She liked dancing, was an excellent pistol shot and was known for her cooking.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Kimberly Frock; sons David Christopher Reazin, and Timothy and Johnny Funk; grandchildren Tammy Jo Funk, Christopher Frock, and Camlin and Casen Reazin; a sister, Brenda Sparks; and brothers James, Ronnie, Isaac and Martin McElroy.

She was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Ruth McElroy.

A time to share memories with the family will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover.

Visitation will also be held from 10 a.m. until the time of a celebration of life service, 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Chaplain Jennifer Bradshaw officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
