Joenne Manor O'Connell, 80, of Sykesville, MD passed away on August 14, 2015. Joenne will be remembered for her love of and pride in her family; her strong Roman Catholic faith; her quiet and unfailing support of her charities; her enjoyment in watching sports on TV; and her love of a family crab feast or gathering. She attended the University of New Hampshire, majoring in mathematics, and received a B.S. degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland. She was a teacher, comptroller, and financial specialist during her working career. Joenne is survived by her 6 children, Cathy O'Connell, Linda Fansler (Rod), Maureen Brunk (Andy), David O'Connell, Daniel O'Connell (Jackie), and Douglas O'Connell (Ann); her 5 grandchildren, Justin and Tyler Brunk, Grace Fansler, Libby and Finley O'Connell; her 2 sisters, Lois Davis (Dick) and Ilona Muhlich (Len); and her large extended family. Joenne will be laid to rest next to her husband of nearly 50 years, Edward J. O'Connell. A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 9:30 AM at the Old St. Joseph Catholic Church (Mellor Avenue) Sykesville. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.
