John A. Spampinato, 78, of Westminster, died Friday, March 15, 2013, at his residence.

Born Sept. 6, 1934, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Alfred James and Margaret Elizabeth Nikol Spampinato. He was the husband of Patricia Strigle Spampinato for more than 57 years.

He was a veteran in the Army. He was the vice president of Philip J. Spampinato, Inc. for 44 years. He later worked as a bookkeeper for ABC Care, Inc. He enjoyed his family.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter Robin Pierson and husband Robert, of Finksburg; and son David Spampinato and wife Claire, of Hanover, Pa.; sisters Mary E. Spampinato, of Carroll County; Catherine Hooper, of Baltimore; Elizabeth Lafferty, of Carroll County; and Margaret Stallings of Darlington; and grandchildren Cassandra and Larissa Caple, and Adam and Dominic Spampinato.

He was predeceased by brother Philip J. Spampinato.

The family will receive friends at from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Church at 65 Sacred Heart Lane in Glyndon. Interment will be held at Lake View Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to American Bladder Cancer Society 399 ½ Main Street Suite 2B, Dalton, MA 01226 -1612.
