John David "JD" Thompson, 24, of Warner Robins, Ga., died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, after 24 years of illness.

Born Feb. 5, 1988, he was the son of David E. Thompson, and mother and stepfather Lou Ann and John Watson.

He had lived all of his life in Warner Robins. He was a student at many Houston County Schools, graduating from Houston County High School in 2010. After graduation his health slowly declined, but he continued to fight.

He was known to have taught many people many different things in his 24 years. He enjoyed watching Bugs Bunny and the Flintstones and liked dogs.

Surviving, in addition to his parents and stepfather, are sisters Emily Thompson, Shanda Elliott, Lindsey Roberts and Kristen Erickson; maternal grandmother, Evelyn Schaeffer; paternal grandmother, Claire Thompson; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, care providers, and many friends.

He was predeceased by grandfathers, John C. Schaeffer and Charles E. Thompson Sr.; and a cousin, Keith Schaeffer.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until the time of service, 8 p.m. Saturday, Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, chapel, 701 Carl Vinson Parkway, Warner Robins. Interment will be in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Children's Hospital, 777 Hemlock St., Macon, GA 31201.
