Mr. John F. (Bud) Sheridan, Jr. of Millsboro, formerly of Baltimore City, Baltimore and Carroll County, MD, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015. He was 89 years old. Mr. Sheridan was born in Baltimore, MD on September 25, 1925 to the late John F. Sheridan Sr. and Goreita E. Justice Sheridan. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded by his wife, Shirley Ann (Mae) Sheridan in 2009, a daughter, Connie Rene Sheridan, sisters, Virginia Sakers Brown and Betty Stafford, and a grandson, Derik M. Sipes. He retired from The Baltimore News American where he worked as a printer for 37 years and also was a counselor, minister and teacher for MANTRA, Teen Challenge, New Life for Girls and ministered for 25 years at The Maryland Training School for Boys. Bud was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served during World War II as a Gunners Mate First Class in the Asiatic and Pacific Corridors. He attended Bay Shore Community Church. He was full of wisdom, blessed and anointed. John was devoted to his family and a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather who will be missed dearly. He is survived by four children, Cheryl Ann Frederick of Carroll County MD, Kelly Krixer Sheridan and his wife Mary of Millsboro, J. Coleen Sheridan of Millsboro, John Frederick Sheridan, III and his wife Chantel of Baltimore County, MD, nine grandchildren: Vicki O'Hara, L. Wayne White, Mecca DiStefano, Tori Sheridan, Kelly Redman-Smith, Christy Boyd, Brody Sipes, Jennifer Plumley and Ami Rexroth, along with twenty great-grandchildren, twenty great- great-grandchildren and extended family members and friends. A funeral and celebration of his life will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Bay Shore Community Church, 36759 Millsboro Hwy, Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call after 3:00 PM. Burial with military honors will take place at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 16, 2015 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966.
