John William Henry Funk, Sr., 77, of Gamber, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, at Brightview Assisted Living. Born March 26, 1940, in Baltimore County, he was the son of the late Wilbur Winfred Funk and Rosella Crissinger Funk. Before retiring he worked for the State of Maryland, Dept. of Health and Mental Hygiene at Springfield and Rosewood Hospital, then worked several years at HTI. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Moose, NRA and Gamber and Community Volunteer Fire Dept. where he was a charter member. He enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles, old tractors and fishing. He is survived by three children, John William Henry Funk, Jr. of Sykesville; Timothy Wayne Funk and wife Robin of Gettysburg, PA; and Kimberly Lynn Frock and husband John of Westminster. Also survived by two grandchildren, Tammy Jo Funk of Brunswick and Christopher Frock of Westminster. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
