John Joseph Riesner, Sr., age 67 of Westminster, died Saturday, June 25, 2016 at his home. Born October 5, 1948 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Norbert Francis and Mary Elizabeth Schreiber Riesner. He was the husband of Patricia M. Riesner of Westminster, his wife of 45 years. John had served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He had been a sales representative and account manager in the liquor industry for many years. He was an avid sports fan, enjoying golf, Ravens and Orioles. He enjoyed traveling to the beach and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Surviving in addition to his wife are son John Joseph Riesner Jr. and his wife Amy of Manchester, daughter Aimee Austin and her husband Ben of Hanover, PA, brothers and sisters-in-law William F. and Sharon Riesner of Indianapolis, IN, Paul G. and Karen Riesner of Ellicott City, and Mark S. and Debbie Riesner of Bel Air, sister and brother-in-law Mary Clare and John Mazurkiewicz of Warrington, VA, and grandchildren Gabriella Riesner, Tylor Riesner, Hailee Austin and Landon Austin. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Patricia Riesner to help fund their grandchildren's education.
