John Sadler, 60 of Eldersburg, Maryland passed away Friday morning, August 19th after a long, and courageous battle with cancer. Loving husband of 27 years to Debby, and proud father of Daniel, (26) Michael (23) and Brian Sadler (16). He leaves behind his Mother, Eleanor Parr Sadler of Bowie, and late Father, Sam Sadler, Sister Karen Mauro of Bowie, Brothers Mark Sadler of Owings, and Alan Sadler of Walkersville. He was the son in-law of Jane and Raymond Springer of Mt. Laurel, NJ. He was the Uncle to 12 nieces and nephews, and Brother In-laws, Mark and Keith Springer, Jim Mauro, Kevin Miller and Sister-in Laws, Sandy Miller, Nancy and Barbra Springer, Kelly and Marcella Sadler. He also left behind a loving and wonderful family pet Buddy who stayed with him each day, and brought John comfort and joy. John spent most of his life in the hospitality field working as a Catering Manager. He was employed at Rosecroft Racetrack, Harry M. Stevens in Robbinsville, NJ and later worked at the Ravens Stadium, The Hippodrome Theatre and McDaniel College. He was active over the years in Sykesville Baseball, and Freedom Rec Basketball, and especially enjoyed coaching with the Sykesville Cyclones. He loved to go camping, canoeing, tennis, and playing poker and with his high school buddies. He was a big fan of the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles. His true love in life was spending time with his family . John fought a valiant battle with cancer for 10 years with strength, courage and grace. He never let himself give up. He tried to live daily by remembering the words of Stuart Scott; "When you die, that does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer, by how you live, why you live and the manner in which you live'" John was our hero and we will miss him every day more than words can say. The family welcomes friends to a viewing at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Rd., Sykesville, MD on Tuesday, August 23rd from 2 - 4 and 6 -8 PM.
