John Louis Urbain, 81, of Hanover, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at his home. Born on October 5, 1936 in Patton, PA, he was the son of the late Paul and Madeline Peel Urbain. He was the husband of Patricia Holtz Urbain. Surviving in addition to his wife are children: Deborah Urbain and husband James Green, Michael Urbain and wife Jennifer, both of Hanover, PA, six grandchildren: Matthew, Brenton, Jamie, Daniel, Jacob, and Joshua, three great grandchildren: Alaric, Henry and Everett, and siblings: Paul Urbain of Somerset, PA, Tom Urbain of Ebensburg, PA, and Jim Urbain of Ebensburg, PA. He was predeceased by his daughter: Joyce Urbain. John had a wide-ranging career from working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation to his retirement as vice president of B. Green & Company. He proudly served his country and was a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces in addition to working for the Army Intelligence Services. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, November 9, from 6-8 p.m. at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, November 10 at 10 a.m. at the Historic St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, 3071 Park Avenue, Manchester, MD. Inurnment to follow in the church cemetery. If desired, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, 2930 Hanover Pike, Manchester, MD 21102.
