John M. Barron, 78, of Manchester, died unexpectedly Monday, May 6, 2103, at Hanover Hospital in Hanover, Pa.

Born Oct. 10, 1934, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Richard H. and Mary Elizabeth Hedrick Barron. He was the husband of Virginia Ellen Lippy Barron.

He was a retired farmer and surveyor for Carroll County. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Manchester, the Hanover Moose and Hanover Eagles. He enjoyed fishing and crabbing with his wife in Ocean City.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with his pastors, the Revs. Matthew S. and Norma L. Schenning officiating. Interment will be in New Lutheran Cemetery in Manchester.
