John Philip Henrich, 70, of Hanover, Pa., died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at home.

Born May 18, 1942, in Ann Arbor, Mich., he was the son of the late Gustav John and Helen Budd Henrich. He was the husband of the late Jacqueline D. Lewis Henrich.

He served in the Navy for 21 years and later worked as an indexer for the National Library of Medicine. He was a Vietnam veteran. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association, and many other local shooting organizations.

Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca Ann Henrich, of Hanover; sisters Kristy Buckles, of Lincoln, Neb., and Bonnie Herrick, of Monroe, Mich.; a brother, Charles Bye, of Battle Creek, Mich.; and numerous brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his birth mother, Miriam Reigel; and a stepmother, Stella Henrich.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown.

Visitation will also be held from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where a funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Interment will be in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery in Owings Mills.
