John Frederick Schriver Jr., 52, of Keymar, died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Belair. Born May 9, 1963 in Silver Spring, he was the son of Anita Louise Davis of Leonardtown and the late John Frederick Schriver. He was the husband of Stacey Stambaugh Schriver, his wife of 5 years. John was a graduate of Kennedy High School in Montgomery County. He was the former owner-operator of Schriver's Lawn and Tree. Currently he was employed with Midlantic Marking, Inc. in New Market. He was a member of Eagles #2226, Littlestown, PA. He enjoyed cutting, splitting and hauling firewood, lawn care and landscaping, camping, muscle car shows and car races and spending time with his wife, family and friends. Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are son, Jonathan Schriver of Thurmont; step-sons, Joseph Staley of Gettysburg, PA, George Staley of Emmitsburg; daughters, Starlyn Campbell of Middletown, Ashlee Ott of Hagerstown, Krystal Schriver of West Virginia; six grandchildren; sisters, Mary Meyer, Jo-ann Felthouse, Debbie Curtis; mother-in-law, Pat Tracey; sister-in-law, Cindy Myers, brothers-in-law, Jimmy, Jeff, Mike and Johnny Stambaugh; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Nathan Kyle Schriver; father-in-law, J. Roger Stambaugh; brother, Jimmy Schriver; and sister, Sharon "Peanut" Schriver. The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro, on Monday, Nov. 16 from 1 to 3 and 6 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Rio Hiett and Will Witt officiating. Interment will follow in Beaver Dam Cemetery, near Union Bridge. To defray expenses, memorial donations may be made to Hartzler Funeral Home, P.O. Box 249, New Windsor, MD 21776.
