Mr. John Lewis Seipp, 90, of Damascus, Maryland, died Monday, January 5, 2015 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Julia C. Seipp. Born December 4, 1924, in Westminster, Maryland, he was a son of the late Otto D. and Christina Wolf Seipp. John graduated from Westminster High School and was drafted into the Army serving during WWII. After returning from the war he worked a short time for Western Maryland Railroad. He then met his wife Julia Clay Seipp of 62 years, and moved to Damascus, and embarked on his life long career as a woodworker and carpenter. He worked for two local building contractors P.G. Burdette and John Haines; and retired after 26 years with the Montgomery County Public School System. John was a member of the American Legion Post 171 in Damascus, and the Damascus Travel Club. Surviving are his daughter Sandra S. Seipp of Damascus, and a brother Paul L. Seipp of Littlestown, Pennsylvania. Friends may call 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Thursday, January 8, at Molesworth-Williams P.A., Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 9, at the funeral home. Pastor Anke Deibler and Rev. Franklin D. Bishop will officiate. Interment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Deer Park, Maryland. The family request in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made in Mr. Seipp's name to: Trinity Lutheran Church Lot Holders Association, 833 Deer Park Road, Westminster, Maryland 21157.
