Joseph Anthony Weber, age 75, of Sykesville passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016, at Golden Living Center, Frederick. Born April 6, 1940, in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late Frank Theodore Weber, Sr. and the late Bertha M. Wojcik Weber. He was the loving companion of Nancy L. Smith of Sykesville. Joseph retired from the Social Security Administration in January of 1995 as a computer manager. He loved to bake cookies and cakes. He was referred to as the "Cakeman" and delivered them to many local restaurants. His other pastimes included flower and vegetable gardening; some referred to him as the "Sodfather". Surviving in addition to his companion is his brother, Edwin Weber of Baltimore. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Thelma Avery, Doris Broderick, Frank Weber and Norbert Weber. The family will receive friends on Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8pm at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. A funeral liturgy will be held on Friday at 10:30am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9533 Liberty Road, Randallstown, MD. Interment will be in Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Parkinson's Research.
