Joseph Dennis Wade, 83, of Westminster passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 8, 2015. Born June 1, 1931, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late James C. and Anna (McCarthy) Wade. He was the loving husband of 53 years to Willanna Mae (Stem) Wade. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired Baltimore City Police officer. He was a member of F.O.P. Lodge #3, St. John Catholic Church, where he was the 1st President of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, The Knights of Columbus and the V.F.W., both in Baltimore and a volunteer for Carroll County Food Sunday. Surviving in addition to his wife are children and spouses, Michael J. and Kathy Wade of Nottingham, Catherine C. and John Grillo of Mt. Airy, Timothy F. and Adria Wade of Whitemarsh, Mary Kathleen "Katie" and Eric Matzko of Columbia SC and son Kevin A. Wade of Westminster. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 21 nieces and 9 nephews. He was predeceased by siblings Theresa A. Stein and James F. and Robert L. Wade. The family will receive friends at the PRITTS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm where the Knights of Columbus will hold a memorial service at 7pm and also on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm where a Chrisitan wake service will be held at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 12 Noon at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster, with Father John Lesnick as celebrant. Interment with military honors will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottsville. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions, in his memory, to St. John Catholic Church or The St. Vincent DePaul Society, 43 Monroe St., Westminster, MD 21157.
