Joseph Francis Soler, 97, of Reisterstown, died on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Long View Nursing Home in Manchester, MD. Born March 19, 1918 in Annapolis, MD, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Kasper) Soler. He was the husband of the late Delphia (Knotts) Soler, to whom he was married 53 years. He served in the Army Air Corp (AAF) from 1941 - 1945 and had been a machinist with National Instrument Corp. prior to his retirement. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he had served as an usher. He was a member of VFW Post #521, Owings Mills and enjoyed gardening and wine making. Surviving are a son, Timothy M. Soler of Manchester, MD; daughter, Marianne C. Wisniewski of Hampstead, MD; sister, Rosemary Downs of Chesapeake, VA; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 S. Main Street, Hampstead, MD on Wednesday, May 6 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday May 7 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon, MD with officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, MD. Online condolences may be made at www.elinefh.com.

Tim and Marianne I am sorry to hear of the passing of your dad. I was a caregiver on the weekends for him. I really enjoyed spending time with him and making meals for him. I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers.
