Joseph W. (Zukas) Kase, 90, of Westminster, formerly of Carbondale, PA, died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Levindale Nursing Home. Born July 29, 1925 in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late Margaret and Joseph Zukas. He was the husband of the late Frances Trichilo Kase who died in 2002. Before retiring he worked as an electronics teacher at the Carroll County Career and Technology Center. He served in the Navy where he was a Cryptographer. He was a member of Deer Park Lions Club, St. John Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Council No. 1393. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Mary Kase Tabeling and James E. Tabeling of Baltimore, grandsons Ned and Henry Tabeling of Towson and brothers Anthony Zukas of Haverhill, Mass and George Zukas of Elmira, NY. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Prayer services will be held Wednesday at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
