Joseph O. McKinney, 85, of Westminster, died Friday, June 21, 2013, at Carroll Hospital Center.

Born Jan. 27, 1928, in Union Bridge, he was the son of the late Emory McKinney and Mary Delphy McKinney. He was the husband of the late Margaret "Jane" McKinney, who died June 5, 1996.

Before retiringm, he was employed at Lehigh for 33 years.

He served in the navy during World War II. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Surviving are sons and daughter-in-laws Joseph O. Jr. and Peggy J. McKinney, of Westminster, Terry L. and Mary L. McKinney, of Westminster; brother and sisters Wayne McKinney, of Clinton, Tenn., Shirley Johnson, of Union Bridge, and Sandra Wetzel, of Union Bridge; granddaughter Mary Jo McKinney Lilley, of Westminster; step-grandchildren Carl and Sherry Thomas, Patricia Martin and Angie Wilhelm; great-grandchildren Christina, Stephanie, Brian and Jeffery; and step-great-grandchildren Sebastian, Emily, Morgan, Abigail, CJ, Brendon, Amanda, Zachary and Jasmine.

He was predeceased by a sister, Marian Lanteria, brothers Bud McKinney and Jack McKinney, and step-grandson Bradley Wilhelm.

The family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main Street, Westminster.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kevin Clementson officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
