Joseph Vernon Truhe Sr., 83, of Reisterstown, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, at University of Maryland Medical Center.

Born April 17, 1929, in Alton, Iowa, he was the son of the late Frank and Elizabeth Stevens Truhe. He was the husband of Beverly Jean Truhe, who died in 2004.

Before retiring, he worked as a supervisor for the United States Patent Office for more than 30 years. He was a veteran of the Army during the Korean War. He was a graduate of the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology in 1956.

He was a member of Piney Branch Country Club. He enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles and annual visits to Disney World in Florida.

He was the last of his immediate family.

Surviving are children Janet Marie Truhe and Joseph V. Truhe Jr.; grandchildren Joseph V. Truhe III, Kara Giglio, Stephen Truhe and John Truhe; and a great-grandchild, Ryan Truhe.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

A private graveside service will be held Saturday at the Meadow Branch Cemetery.
