Joseph Wallace Weir Jr., 69, of Westminster, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore.

Born June 24, 1943, in Baltimore, he was the son of Dorothy Hartle Weir, of Finksburg, and the late Joseph Wallace Weir Sr. He was the husband of Jacqueline Marie Panza Weir, his wife of 47 years.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a materials manager for Hittman Materials and Medical Components. In his spare time he was a member of Post 31 of the Sons of the America Legion and the Westminster Moose. He was a former member of the Reisterstown Moose. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with family.

Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are children J. Christopher Weir and wife Daniela Petrosino Weir, of Bel Air, John C. Weir and wife Erin Dunn Weir, of Taneytown, and Juliane Weir Kellar and husband Nicholas, of Westminster; sister Darlene Weir Cordy and husband William; and grandchildren Justin, Amanda, Kristen, Braden and Avery.

He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Lauren Weir.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon, with celebrant Msgr. Lloyd Aiken officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
