Joyce Marie Myriah Brown, 81, of Arnold, Maryland and formerly of Westminster, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Future Care Chesapeake in Arnold. She was born on August 22, 1934 in Mexico, Maryland and was the daughter of the late Truman R. and Hilda (Bowersox) Lindsay. She was the loving wife of Herbert M. Brown whom she married on April 23, 1955. Joyce was a graduate of Westminster High School class of 1952. She was employed at C & P Telephone Company where she worked in the service order department until her retirement in 1959. She was a member of Cape St. Claire United Methodist Church where she was involved in several church activities. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Lancaster, PA, and a loyal supporter to the Baltimore Ronald McDonald House since 1980. She enjoyed ceramics, golfing, traveling, and collecting HarborLight Lighthouses. Surviving in addition to her husband are children Brian L. Brown of Annapolis, and Lynda D. Lefever and wife Sharon of Lancaster, PA; grandson Travis Lefever of Lancaster, PA; sister Margaret Leonard of Gamber; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Ray, Charles, and Gerald Lindsay; sisters and brothers-in-law Virginia and Marion Shipley, Charlotte and Carroll Mann, Beatrice and Clark Eutsler, Dorothy and Marion Blizzard, and Elizabeth and Clayton Moreland. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 22, 2016 from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 10 am at the funeral home with her pastor Rev. Richard Gray officiating. Entombment will be held in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to Cape St. Clair United Methodist Church, 855 Chestnut Tree Dr., Annapolis MD 21049.
