Judith Ann "Judy" Stambaugh, 63, of Thurmont, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, in Hagerstown.

Born March 6, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Evelyn Sharrer and John I. Sies. She was the wife of Roy E. Stambaugh, her husband of 40 years.

She was a former owner of Flowers by Roy, LTD in Thurmont. She was a member of the Society of American Florists and was inducted into the American Academy of Floriculture in 1998. She was an FTD Master Florist, Teleflora Wedding Specialist and Redbook Master Florist.

She was also a designer for Tournament of Roses Parade with Fiesta Parade Floats of Pasadena, Calif., and a designer for Society of American Florist Congressional Action Days each year on Capitol Hill.

She was on design teams for the presidential inaugurations of Presidents Ronald Reagan, George Bush Sr., William Clinton and George W. Bush in Washington, D.C. She was inducted into Who's Who in Professional Women and Entrepreneurs and was a designer for many professional groups and charities over the years. She was a server at Mountain Gate Family Restaurant for more than 20 years.

She enjoyed time with her pets Chico, Paco and Callie.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are children and spouses Ryan and Jessica Stambaugh, Chad and Jennifer Stambaugh, and Todd Stambaugh; a brother, John Sies; and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kelly Crenshaw officiating. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick.
