Julia Ann Carr Pickett, 93 of Westminster, went to heaven Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Westminster. Born May 26, 1922 in Bald Friar, MD, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Amelia Brown Carr. She was the wife of Norman Ralph Pickett Sr. of Westminster, her husband of 74 years, whom she married on November 21, 1940. She had been a homemaker for many years. She attended Polittown Elementary School and graduated in 1935. She attended Rising Sun High School and graduated in 1939. She attend beauty school in Baltimore and graduated as a beauty technician. She loved to travel by car, visiting all 50 states including traveling by plane to Hawaii and Alaska. Surviving in addition to her husband are children Norman Ralph Pickett Jr. and his wife Marilou of Westminster, daughter Bonnie Cheryl Cawthorne and her husband John of Florida, and grandchildren Daniel Pickett, Jennifer Pickett, and Ian Alexander. She was predeceased by her siblings, Archie Brown Carr, George Worthington Carr, Pit Amelia Irman, and Alice Elizabeth Knights. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 11am at Taylorsville United Methodist Church, 4356 Ridge Rd., Mt. Airy 21771 with Rev. Sarah Dorrance officiating.
