Julia Clara Ringler, 91, of Eldersburg, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Homestead of Sun Valley Assisted Living in Sykesville.

Born Feb. 13, 1922, in Highland Park, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Peter and Victoria Csernicsek Budai. She was the wife of Master Sgt. Jackson F. Ringler, who died in 1989.

She joined the Womens Army Corps in World War II. After basic training at Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., she was assigned to the Army Air Forces, North Atlantic Division of Air Transport Command, 1375th Base Unit at Grenier Field, Manchester, N.H. While there, she she met and married her husband. She was honorably discharged as a private first class in June 1945. She was a typist with the state police headquarters.

She enjoyed swimming, bowling and photographing covered bridges.

Surviving are a son, Robert F. Ringler, of Eldersburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
