Julia Loretta Hamm Gamber, 55, of Taneytown, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at her home.

Born on Dec. 12, 1957, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Arvil G. Hamm Sr. and Margaret V. Sampson. She was the wife of Michael William Gamber, her husband of 15 years.

She was a graduate of Mt. Hebron High School, class of 1976. She worked with Howard County Government in building maintenance and as an administrative assistant. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, cleaning, helping others and volunteering for Christmas in July.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are sons David Johnson, of Bulls Gap, Tenn., Timothy Angles, of Emmitsburg, Bobby Angles, of Emmitsburg, Thomas Edmonds, of Taneytown, Jeffrey Edmonds, of Waynesboro, Pa., daughters Dawn Johnson of Morristown, Tenn., and Jessica Gamber, of Littlestown, Pa.; siblings Joseph J. Hamm, of Taneytown, Margaret V. Fisher, of Taneytown, Robin L, Hutchinson, of Grafton, W.Va., Walt C. Hamm, of Virginia, and Arvil Glenn Hamm Jr., of Westminster; 20 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by sisters Stella L.M. Hamm and Mary A. Hamm, and brothers Daniel Hamm and Douglas Hamm.

The family will receive friends on from 2-4 and from 6 p.m. until the time of the memorial service, 8 p.m. Sunday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, with the Rev. Wayne Gadow officiating. Interment will be private.
