June Clark Hedges, 88, of Westminster, died peacefully on January 17, 2015 at the Carroll Lutheran Village. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles D. Hedges, Jr., whom she married in 1948. June was born in Arcola, Illinois on June 6, 1926 and raised in Louisville, KY. She was a graduate of the University of Louisville with a major in Biology and active in the Kappa Delta Sorority. Mrs. Hedges was a long term member of Christ Memorial Presbyterian Church in Columbia, Maryland, where she served as Bible School Chairman, Circle Chairman, and President of the WOC. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Westminster, Maryland. She held various jobs including: a civilian employee for the U.S Government; pediatrician administrative assistant, fourth grade teacher, church secretary, and homemaker. She retired to Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster, Maryland in 2009. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling extensively and volunteering in the CLV library. Surviving is son and daughter-in-law Dan C. and Linda Hedges of Columbia; daughter and son-in-law Polly Hedges and Jeff Fasick of Marriottsville; sister Polly Clark Dotson of Kentucky; and grandchildren Heather Czarnik and husband Joe, Kari Fasick and Ken Fasick. A Memorial Service for Charles and June will be held on January 24 at 2 P.M. at Krug Chapel at Carroll Lutheran Village, 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster. Family and friends may visit from 1 to 2 before the service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Westminster (65 Washington Road Westminster, MD 21157), or Carroll Lutheran Village Assistance Fund (300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster, MD).
