June Stansfield, 85, formerly of Sykesville, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013.

Born June 5, 1927, in Randallstown, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Elva Pickett. She was the wife of Thomas Andrew Stansfield.

For most of her life, she resided in the Eldersburg/Sykesville area. She then moved to North Carolina with her husband in 2002.

She served the Oakland Methodist Church as an organist for more than 20 years and retired from the Springfield Hospital where she worked as a medical records secretary.

She was known for her cooking and to have a green thumb with plants and flowers. She enjoyed birds.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Susan Gale Spivey; sons Thomas Joel Stansfield and wife Kristi, David Andrew Stansfield and wife Judy; grandchildren Tim, Sam, James, John, Phillip, Joseph and Liana Whelan, Nathan and Allyson, and Sarah, David and Ashley; a sister, Betty Levy; and a brother, Fode Pickett.

She was predeceased by brothers, Joe, Bud, and Bob Pickett; and sisters, Pauline Beall and Ruth Richardson.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service, noon Friday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. Interment will be in Mount View Cemetery in Marriottsville.
