Katherine Kaiser "Kay" Frantum, 90, of Westminster, a resident of Carroll Lutheran Village, and formerly of Annapolis, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at her home.

Born Sept. 19, 1923, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Esther Shafer Kaiser. She was the wife of H. Theodore "Ted" Frantum Jr., her husband of 58 years.

She was a 1953 graduate of Western Maryland College, now McDaniel College, receiving her master's in education. She was a teacher and supervisor of instruction at Glen Burnie High School, where she became principal. Upon her retirement, she worked for the Anne Arundel Board of Education for five years.

She was the former treasurer of the English Towers Home Owners Association in Ocean City and was on the Food and Dining Committee at Carroll Lutheran Village.

She enjoyed worldwide traveling with her husband and spending time with her dog, Iain. She was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are cousins Corinne Powell and Carol Carew, both of Catonsville, and Jack Carew, of Hampstead; and friends Dee and Don Akers, of Warrenton, Va., and Thomas Griffith VI, of South Riding, Va.

She was predeceased by a cousin, Donald Carew.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service, 11 a.m. Monday at Krug Chapel at Carroll Lutheran Village, 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster, with the Rev. Jimmie Schwartz officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville.
