Kathleen R. Hare, 92, of Freeland, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at home.

Born May 31, 1920, in Fletton, England, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Elizabeth Thompson Gout. She was the wife of the late Arthur S. Hare Sr.

She enjoyed children and was a daycare provider all of her life.

She was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church in Rayville. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, her home in the country and being with friends.

Surviving are daughter Beverly K. Martin and husband Daniel, of Hampstead; a son, Arthur S. Hare Jr., of Felton, Pa.; grandsons Jeffrey Martin and wife Sheri, Brent Martin and wife Jill, Darren Martin and wife Cindi, and Arthur S. Hare III; five great-grandchildren; sisters Grace Elizabeth Gout, Ada Winiferd Vine, Lucy Ann Buck and Susan Lyons, all of England; a brother, Cyril Frank Gout, of England; sisters-in-law Mable and Gladys Hare, of Manchester; and brother-in-law Robert Hare and wife Doris, of Manchester.

She was predeceased by brothers Charles William and John Peter Gout; and a sister, Gertrude Alice Steele.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, Pa.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary, with the Rev. Dr. Peggy Click officiating. Interment will be in Middletown Cemetery in Freeland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Pine Grove United Methodist Church, 19401 Middletown Road, Parkton, MD 21120; or Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
