The Guest Book is expired.

Kaye Rudge, 75, of Sykesville, MD, passed away suddenly on January 18, 2018 at Country Meadows Retirement Community in Frederick, MD. Born on October 12, 1942, in Salinas, California, to the late Maida and Justin Blickensderfer. Kaye spent most of her early years in Greensboro, North Carolina. Graduating with honors from Myers Park High School and earning a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, Kaye went on to become the first female news reporter for WFMY-TV in Greensboro, NC. Having conquered Greensboro, Kaye set her sights for Baltimore, MD, where she worked at WJZ-13 as a reporter and news anchor for several years. In June of 1975, she married a crazy Australian, one Peter Rudge of Wahroonga and in 3 years time they would have a son who quickly convinced them not to have more children. After starting a family, Kaye left TV and ventured into the world of finance with Alex Brown & Son, eventually becoming a successful Stock Broker Associate until her retirement. Sadly, after 35 years of marriage, her husband Peter passed away in 2011. She loved gardening, reading, cheering for the Ravens and Orioles and was never one to miss a happy hour. She was full of wit, generosity and kindness and she will be sorely missed. She is survived by her son, Bryan and his partner Kelly; her sister, Elaine; her brother, Justin and two loving grandchildren. A private celebration of her life will be held at her son's residence in the coming weeks. There will probably be vodka. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to: Co-Workers Foundation, c/o Country Meadows, 5955 Quinn Orchard Road, Frederick, Maryland 21704. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.staufferfuneralhome.com
