Kenneth Mackenzie Jones, 72, of Mount Airy, died Monday, May 5, 2014, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.

Born Feb. 11, 1942, in Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Charles Kenneth Jones and the late Miriam Crosby Jones. Twice married, he was the husband of the late Theressa Jones, and of Mary M. Hanlon.

He had been a draftsman with the Army Research Laboratory. He was very family oriented and enjoyed spending time in Cape May, New Jersey. He was a master gardener.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a stepmother, Hattie Roane, of Richmond, Virginia; son John Walter Jones and wife Cathy Jo Jones, of Pasadena; daughters Donna Lyn Daniels and partner Neil Schneider, of Sacramento, California, Sharon Elizabeth Runkles and husband Steve Allen Runkles Sr., of Eldersburg; a brother, David Jones, of Massachusetts; sisters Carol Ellen Jones, of Maryland, and Elaine Roane, of Virginia; sister-in-law Lois Marie Kennedy and husband Dave, of Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren Stephanie Ely and husband Daniel, Casey, Sean and Jeremy Jones, Steven and Sara Runkles, Ashley and Mackenzie Daniels and Christopher Michael Morris; great-grandchildren Kellie Harring, Olivia and Colton Ely, Travis Daniels, and Christian and Gunner Morris; and a niece, Allyson Kennedy, of Richmond.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.
