Kenneth Otis Banks, 69, of Reisterstown, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at home.

Born March 18, 1945, in Maryland, he was the son of the late Ralph Louis and Elizabeth McGrath Banks. He was the husband of Susan Chandler Banks.

He served in the Army National Guard prior to becoming an engineer. He was involved in HVAC sales in the Baltimore area most of his life. He was a graduate of Polytechnic Institute in Baltimore. He was a member of MEMRA and ASHRA.

He was fond of the people and the water at Cooks Point. He enjoyed music and playing the drums and was a sword collector. He liked making new friends, he embraced life and was a raconteur of his life experiences.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons Brandon W. Banks, of Reisterstown, and Evan C. Banks, of San Francisco; a sister-in-law, Mitsuko Kumura Banks; a niece, Christine Palmara; a grand-nephew, Rocco Kumura Palmara; and many friends and family.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. June 14 at Northminster Presbyterian Church in Reisterstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Gilchrist Hospice, 11311 McCormick Road, Suite 350, Hunt Valley, MD 21031.

Arrangements are by Eline Funeral Home in Reisterstown.
