Laverne B. "Boots" Dayhoff, 83, of Hanover, Pa., died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at home.

Born Sept. 3, 1930, in Hanover, he was the son of the late Birnie F. and Beulah Rudisill Dayhoff. He was the husband of Shirley R. Mummert Dayhoff, his wife of 63 years.

He had worked at DK Hershey, Cramer Tire Company, Sears, and he then opened his own business Dayhoff's Wheel Alignment, and later started B&B Auto Sales, which he had owned and operated since 1972.

He was a member of Harvest Time Temple in Hanover. He enjoyed restoring old farm tractors, and horses.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children Bruce Dayhoff and wife Diane, and Pamela Wolf, all of Hanover; grandchildren Wendy Cover and husband Dwayne, Lisa Gross and husband Ronald, Ryan Wolf, Justin Wolf and wife Amber, Corey Wolf, all of Hanover; five great-grandchildren; sisters Treva Geiman, of Littlestown, Pa., and Shirley Bortner, of Spring Grove, Pa.; and a brother, the Rev. David Dayhoff, of Cumberland.

He was predeceased by brothers Raymond and Marvin Dayhoff; and sisters Nadine Warner, Arlene Wentz, Dorothy Bange, Evelyn Hershey and Janet Bortner.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service, 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Harvest Time Temple, 700 Black Rock Road, Hanover, with the Rev. Fred Mummert officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hanover.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the , 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603; or The Hospice Program of the VNA of Hanover & Spring Grove, 440 N. Madison St., Hanover, PA 17331.
