Lawrence Edward Grabenstein, 76, of Eldersburg passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Westminster. He was born on May 22, 1939 in Cumberland and was the son of the late John Russell and Mildred Elizabeth (Marple) Grabenstein.� He was the husband of the late Barbara Grabenstein who predeceased him in 2011. Lawrence worked at Food Fair and other food chains usually in the produce department. He later went into the construction field and eventually had his own business in Delaware. After retiring he worked part time at Hocker's Grocery in Delaware. He loved living near the ocean and enjoyed riding his moped to the beach and around town. He loved RV's which gave him the freedom to go to different places. He was a lifetime member of Haystack Mountain Sportsmans Club. His siblings are Paul Grabenstein and wife Diane of Aberdeen, Carl Grabenstein and wife Angie of� Deep Creek Lake, Thomas Grabenstein and wife Carole of Abdington, and Donna Kraus and husband Kurt of Finksburg; his deceased brother Jack Grabenstein and sister Eleanor Walsh. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Donna and Kurt Kraus, 2693 Ansley Dr., Finksburg, MD 21048 on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 1-6pm.� Memorial donations may be made in his name to the William E. Kahlert Regional Cancer Center, 291 Stoner Ave., Westminster MD 21157 or to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster MD 21157. Arrangements are being handled by Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel.
