Leila M. Elton Kelly, 74, of Westminster, died Sunday, July 15, 2012, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.

Born Aug. 23, 1937, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Whilemina Schmidt Elton and Harry Elton. She was the wife of Charles E. Kelly, her husband of 53 years.

She was a homemaker and farmer. She served in the Navy for 18 months. She was an active member of Bethesda United Methodist Church in Sykesville, and she enjoyed crafts.

Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Lucinda and Lloyd Ludy; sons and daughters-in-law Daniel and Melvina Kelly, and Leroy and Paula Kelly; and grandchildren Patricia and Jonathon Shaffner, Shannon and Kristofer Tidman, Charles Ludy, Sean Kelly and Cora Krynick.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon Kelly.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethesda United Methodist Church, 328 N. Klee Mill Road, Sykesville, with the Rev. Taysie Phillips officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
