Leola E. "Lee" Stout, 90, of Eldersburg, died Monday, April 30, 2012, at home.

Born Oct. 2, 1921, in Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth Laros Lutz. She was the wife of the late Sr. Master Sgt. Francis Arling Stout, her husband of 66 years.

She graduated with the class of 1939 from Easton High School in Pennsylvania. She attended the Christian school of Houghton College in Houghton, N.Y.

She supported her husband's military career and was active in his Christian Baptist Ministry and Bible studies. She resided in Clinton for 27 years. She retired as a civil service branch secretary for the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory Space Science Division in Washington, D.C., and resided in Interlachen, Fla., for the next 20 years before returning to Maryland.

She enjoyed holding babies, crocheting, playing the organ, singing hymns, poetry, the beach, listening to the ocean and feeding the seagulls.

Surviving are sons Ronald Francis Stout and Robert Edwin Stout, both of Upper Marlboro, and James Lee Stout, of Reston, Va.; daughters and son-in-law Ruth Ann and Pete Maitland, of Sanford, Fla., and Janet Louise Stout, of Eldersburg; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Chapel and graveside services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va., with the Rev. Brian Mentzer officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent The Columbia Light House for the Blind, 1825 K St. NW, Washington, DC 20006; or to Gideon's Bible International, 2900 Lebanon Road, Nashville, TN 37214.
