Leslie Clair Waddell Jr., 75, of Sykesville, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at Northwest Hospital Center in Randallstown.

Born Jan. 17, 1937, in Eccleston, he was the son of the late Leslie Clair Sr. and Anna Helen Brown Waddell. He was the husband of Marilynn H. Ford Waddell.

He was retired as a planner from the Howard County Planning and Zoning Commission. He was a 1955 graduate of McDonough School.

He was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church in Sykesville. He enjoyed the outdoors and tennis.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are son and fiance Douglas Scott Waddell and Lora Burns, of Sykesville; son and daughter-in-law Dan Scott and Kelly Waddell, of Westminster; brothers John, Wayne and Paul Waddell, and the Rev. Thomas Waddell; a sister, Polly Elgin; and grandchildren Victoria, Maddison, Sophia, Troy and Tara Waddell.

He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Waddell.

Friends may call from 2 to 5  p.m. Sunday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel,  6416 Sykesville Road,  Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with his brother, the Rev. Thomas Waddell officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
