Lettie Pauline Cartzendafner, age 95, of Taneytown, died Thursday, September 8, 2106 at Lorien Health Care, Taneytown. Born October 11, 1920 in Bark Hill, she was the daughter of the late Hall and Pauline Leakins Martin. She was the wife of Charles Earl "Bill" Cartzendafner who died in 1994. Lettie was a 1938 graduate of New Windsor High School. She was a member of the former St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Uniontown and then became a devoted member of Mt. Union Lutheran Church, near Union Bridge and the LCW. She was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the New Windsor Volunteer Fire Co. She and her husband were dairy farmers in Wakefield Valley until 1983. She was employed at the New Windsor Pharmacy for 42 years. Lettie enjoyed being outdoors, playing bingo and attending Bible study. Surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Kathleen Curfman and Thelma Ecker; brother, Virgil Martin and niece, Kathy Curfman. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 12 at Mt. Union Lutheran Church, 5000 Middleburg Rd., with Rev. Richard L. Michael, pastor of St. James Lutheran Church, Union Bridge and her nephew, Rev. Virgil Cain, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Smithsburg, officiating. Private interment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Uniontown. The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 310 Church St., 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, September 11. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt.
