Lewis Gates Wilson Jr., 66, of Eldersburg, died unexpectedly Monday, March 3, 2014, at home.

Born Nov. 29, 1947, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Lewis Gates Wilson Sr. and Helen Marie Tornquist Wilson.

He grew up in West Baltimore and Baltimore County before moving with his family to Eldersburg in 1968. He was a graduate of Milford Mill High School and Baltimore Junior College, and ran his own construction company in the 1970s and 1980s. After returning to school and earning a law degree from the University of Baltimore, he specialized in real estate law for many years.

He had a lifelong enjoyment of antique construction and farm equipment, and was known for his detailed technical drawings of them. He was known for recalling many family and historical events. He enjoyed trail riding with family and friends, and liked old movies.

Surviving are a sister, Dr. Kristine M. Wilson, of Leesburg, Va.; cousins Melinda L. and J. Walter Callis, of Eldersburg, John W. Callis III and Wendy A. Holthause, of Westminster, and Robert E. Holthause, of Baltimore.

He was predeceased by a cousin, Col. Harry F. Wilson, Ret.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 2205 Old Liberty Road, Eldersburg. Interment will be in Druid Ridge Cemetery in Pikesville.
