Lillian Celeste Schaeffer, 85, of Westminster, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House.

Born Sept. 22, 1927, in Finksburg, she was the daughter of the late Franklin Thompson Sr. and Emma Heede Thompson. She was the wife of Edgar A. Schaeffer, her husband of 57 years, who died May 2010. 

She was a 1946 graduate of Westminster Senior High School. She was a homemaker and a long time member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking and gardening.

Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Laura J. and Myron Frock, of Westminster; son and daughter-in-law Noah Schaeffer and Pamela Huber-Schaeffer, of Westminster; grandchildren Aaron Frock, Jacob Schaeffer, and Hannah Schaeffer; a step-granddaughter, Heather Smith; a step-great-grandson, Austin Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by siblings Christina Mitchell, Mabel Thompson, Bessie Knight, Tenny Kenlon, Elsie Mayer, Naomi Blakely, and Franklin Thompson Jr.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service, 11 a.m. Friday at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, with the Rev. Martha Clementson officiating. Interment will be in Kriders Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 21 Carroll St., Westminster, MD 21157; or to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
